The Lighthouse Ranch provides loving homes for foster children that are referred and administered by the Tennessee Baptist Children's Homes. The homes are very large and the goal is to provide a home that will accommodate multiple siblings.
Siblings in foster care are often separated into different foster homes and sometimes permanently separated through adoption. The vision is to provide long-term homes for children in foster care if children are unable to be reunited with their family, and to adopt if available.
Jason and Amy Harrington, along with son, Isaiah, continue to make Lighthouse Ranch their home. The North Dakota family joined our ministry almost a year ago and have proven themselves to be great assets. Along with serving in all parts of the camp and widows ministries, the Harringtons are meeting the challenges of providing a loving, disciplined and structured home for children in need.
Children that enter our Ranch homes have generally had little structure in their lives and it can be a real challenge to deal with rebellious attitudes concerning respect for authority. We are so thankful for the Harringtons as they provide loving, Christ-like guidance and structure in the lives of the
children in their home.
Tom and Tami Recke, their daughter Emersen and son, Peter, are now part of the Lighthouse family ministering to children in need in our Ranch home.
The Reckes moved to Middle Tennessee in 2020 and soon learned about Lighthouse Christian Camp. Serving at the 2020 Christmas parties, they were informed by Ranch parent Jason Harrington, that we had another home available and that we were looking for house parents.
Tom and Tami have a great heart for children in need. They adopted their first son, Csaba, from Hungary in 2007 and six months later their biological daughter, Emersen, was born.
In the summer of 2013, they adopted Jurijs (Peter) from Latvia. They lost their son, Csaba, when he passed away from a congenital heart defect.
The Reckes moved into our Ranch home last month and will soon complete the home study and will be ready to take children into their care.
