After-School-Club
Each year camp staff and volunteers select and invite local camp attendees who have made decisions for Christ to participate in the camps “After-School-Club” program. The purpose of this program is to teach and disciple these young Christians on how to represent Jesus Christ well in their everyday lives.
Each Tuesday afternoon during most of the school year, the Lighthouse bus picks up sixty to eighty DeKalb county children for the After-School-Club.
Upon returning to camp, children are divided into gender and age groups for program activities including times for completion and review of homework, snacks, activities, scripture verse memorization, prayer and Bible study. Participants achieving above average grades on report cards are rewarded monetarily throughout the program. Additionally, at the end of each program semester (Fall and Spring), children enrolled in the program are rewarded with a celebration day-long-field trip for successful participation.
If you would like to see how you can help with the After-School-Club program call the camp office at (615) 597-1264.
